LISLE, Ill. -- Abbot Austin Murphy, OSB, has announced that he will conclude his tenure as the abbot of St. Procopius Abbey on June 24, 2024. Abbot Austin was elected as the tenth abbot of the Abbey on June 24, 2010 and, after fourteen years in office, he has discerned that it is time for new leadership. The decision is not prompted by any controversy, but is a decision that Abbot Austin freely made after careful discernment.
