Renovation Project Continues

Now over 50 years old, the Abbey building is undergoing a renovation to update the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems as well as the domestic water system. In order to maintain enough living and working space, the renovation is proceeding in phases.

The first phase began in Fall 2020, and was primarily focused on the east wing of the dormitory. In March of 2021, work will progress toward the northeast, affecting the Abbot’s Office, the infirmary, the community room, and offices on the ground floor.

The project is expected to move next to the south wing of the monks’ rooms. All work should be completed by Spring of 2022.

“This a major and important undertaking for our building complex, but we have been blessed with experienced workers and with generous support from donors as well as from volunteers on our maintenance and advancement committees,” said Abbot Austin Murphy, the superior of the community.
